Sometimes photos just come so effortlessly and I barely have to pose my clients. That’s exactly how it was for Kelsey and her gorgeous kids! I just told them to play and love each other, and they killed it! They made my job as a Colorado Springs Family Photographer just way too easy. I was swooning over them during their sunset session and still can’t stop swooning over them now. There’s just something about their love and laughter that is contagious and I can’t stop smiling looking through their photos. It’s moments like these that deserve being captured forever. And this is why I just love being a Colorado Springs Family Photographer. These sweet moments are so fleeting and I love providing families with a means to showcase the precious times of their life.
A Garden of the Gods couples session
My tactics are working! The Instagram stars have aligned. Lauren was looking for a photographer in Colorado Springs for her and her husband, and found me via an Instagram hashtag search. See, all those 30 hashtags are actually useful! I met Lauren and her husband, Justin at the iconic Garden of the Gods overlook, and boy was it great. I can never get sick of those views. A mix of Pikes Peak and the red rocks of Garden of the Gods- so perfect. Can you believe they’re both in The Army? Talk about a tough life, but they make it work. Aren’t they just the sweetest? They just bought at house at the foothills of the mountains and are in the market for a new pug puppy. Lots of joy and happiness in their lives and I was so happy I could capture a little snippet of it.
What an adorable family… I feel like I start out every blog post saying how adorable my clients are, but REALLY, I get to work with such adorable people. Anyways, this was a cute family session in Garden of the Gods right at the beginning of Spring. Phani had warned me that their one and a half year old was a crazy one and that she would most likely be completely uninterested in the pictures- boy was he right! Picking grass, running around, spinning, and throwing a ball was FAR more exciting than taking pictures. Despite her disinterest, we got some wonderful family photos and captured the Gollapalli family in purely candid moments. I can’t wait to work with this family again in the future!
How did I get to where I am now?
This is a question I ask myself all the time. As I’m starting to put a lot more additional work into growing my business, I often sit back and ask myself, “how did I even get here”? Well– I started from scratch. As I suppose most people do. But I think what makes my story different is that I never had any intentions of starting a business, it just kind of happened. I’ve always liked photography, and enjoyed taking pictures, although it was never really an acknowledged skill or hobby. And before I even knew what bokeh (the blur behind the subject in focus) was, I LOVED it and would take pictures of random things around the house to get that effect.

A State College, PA wedding | The Arboretum at Penn State
This was my very first wedding on my own! I had only ever done a wedding as a second shooter in May of 2014 and this was my first since then. I’m so happy Matt and Kayla trusted me with the photography for their special day. This was a very small wedding that took place at the beautiful grounds of the Arboretum at Penn State. Matt went to school at Penn State so the location was very fitting. Colorful flower gardens and arrangements were the perfect backdrop for this beautiful Memorial Day Weekend wedding.
We started off with a first look that I was SO happy the couple decided to do. We got some great pictures around Milbook Marsh, and Matt got to swoon over his beautiful bride before they got hitched shortly after. Fortunately the rain held out for us. It started to drizzle during the first look pictures, but thankfully passed right over us. We were then graced with sunshine the rest of the day and got some amazing photos at the Arboretum. Although it was a small wedding with immediate family only, there was no shortage of love and happiness on this special day. I was so fortunate that Matt and Kayla let me take the lead and use my creativity to best capture their eternal love for one another. And of course, since the wedding took place around Penn State, we had to make a stop at the famous lion shrine on campus. WE ARE!

An Easton, PA wedding | St. Peter’s Evangelical Lutheran Church
I had the wonderful pleasure of photographing the beautiful wedding of Kait and Mihai in Easton, PA over memorial day weekend. This was a weekend filled with love for me as I shot not one, but TWO weddings. This was the second of the two I photographed. The ceremony took place in a traditional church, with a reception that followed at Kait’s parents’ house. What a great and fun couple they were! Their smiles were beaming all night long and I could tell that it was true love they shared. It is very clear that Kait and Mihai’s love for the other people in their lives is deeply reciprocated by their friends. I loved celebrating with their sweet friends and family and got some great wedding photography experience during only my second wedding that I’ve done. Enjoy my favorites below and congrats to the happy newly weds!!
Hi there, friends! I have an exciting new update that I am sure you will be thrilled about. For the time being, I am no longer requiring print purchases to be made through me. All future sessions will include a print release with the session fee. What does this mean for you? A better deal and more bang for your buck! With this, you will pay an upfront session fee and have the freedom to purchase prints on your own however and whenever you want. I truly care about the clients I work with, and want to be sure I am offering exactly what people want. You have spoken, and I have answered.
Lots of fun with Alexa. We had a great sunny evening around campus before the weather started to turn cloudy. Check this pretty gal out!
Oh goodness. These two were SO adorable (and so kind). I feel like I always say that everyone is so kind. I’ve gotten to work with so many great people doing all these sessions, and I love seeing how happy their are with my work. Sarah and Dylan were not only cute, but lots of fun to work with. And the lighting for their session was BOMB!
What a great group of girls! This is the third year that I’ve been taking pictures for girls in AXO and they have been so sweet and pleasant every time!
